RECTOR
Reverend Richard S. Beyea III was installed as Christ the Saviour’s rector in January of 2024. He and his wife, the Reverend Deacon Renée Beyea, offer ministry of the Word and Sacrament each week at our Sunday Eucharist.
Rick previously served as chaplain at Arlington National Cemetery, the capstone to his nearly twenty-five year Air Force career, which included oversight of the Chaplain Corps’ Clinical Pastoral Education program. Prior to entering the military, he invested twelve years in missions, young adult and youth ministry. Rick received his undergraduate degree from George Mason University (’86), Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary (’99), and ordination to the priesthood on June 13, 1999. He and his wife, Renée, have partnered in serving the Lord and sharing the gospel for more than two decades. They have two sons. The Beyeas are canonically resident in the Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy (www.anglicanchaplains.org) and licensed through the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic, Anglican Church in North America (www.anglicandoma.org).
Renée loves words—both God’s Word and weaving words to delight the senses and touch the soul. She studied creative writing at Taylor University (’96), has published a short story collection and graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary (’00), where she also received the Lloyd John Ogilvie Preaching Award. She pairs a Master of Divinity with more than twenty years’ experience as a Bible teacher, spiritual director, guest preacher and retreat speaker in women’s ministries, Air Force chapels and Anglican congregations.
